The Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s major redevelopment required an advanced critical alerting and display platform.

Receiving data from our Message Integration Engine, Ikonix Billboard shows security personnel the location of a duress alarm, for an immediate response.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) has undergone a major redevelopment by adding a new Clinical Services Building (CSB) to the campus. This new CSB included a new Emergency Department (ED), new imaging facilities as well as additional ward beds to support the expansion of inpatient services in the western suburbs of Adelaide.

Ikonix Technology was engaged to deliver a real time alerting system to display location-specific alarms and alerts for security teams.

Integrating with AiRISTAFlow Real-time Location Services (RTLS) as a personnel duress system, a map-based alert location is shown on displays installed at key locations throughout the environment to direct response teams in case of an emergency.

Audible alerts are broadcast from the Ikonix Billboards, as well as to existing hospital mobile handsets and pagers.

The map shows the emergency location down to the specific room, and then tracks the tag if the affected worker moves. This keeps security updated if their destination changes during a dynamic situation.

Ikonix Technology deployed the RTLS system, developed a custom integration to our Billboard display module, and installed terminals at strategic locations throughout the Emergency Department.

Through this, Ikonix Billboard will be making a vital contribution to keeping South Australia’s hospital workforce safe.
